There have been many books on Wild Goose Qigong published over the past years but a recent book that gives detailed insights into the system, is by Simon Blow.  Simon first learned about Wild Goose Qigong in 2007 during a visit to Wuhan and has returned annually to ensure that his movements remain precise and accurate.
Simon Blow has written two books, Da Yan Wild Goose Qigong 1st 64, and Da Yan Wild Goose Qigong 2nd 64.
These books have been written with the guidance of both Grandmaster Chen Chuangang and his wife, Madame Chen.
In addition to detailed instructions on how to perform the movements, the book also contains information about why we do each movement, where the Qi flows, which movements are dispersing and which are nourishing the Qi.
There is also a set of DVDs to accompany these books.

Grandmaster Chen Chuangang said: "This is the best version in English on Wild Goose Qigong I have ever seen. I hope all practitioners read it carefully."

In addition to studying Qigong for many years, Simon has also been initiated into Dragon Gate Daoism.

He is also a Standing Council member of the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong, Beijing, China.

Simon has also received the World Health Organisation certification in Medical Qigong clinical practice from the Xiyuan Hospital in Beijing. He is an Indoor Student of Grandmaster Chen Chuangang.

Here you can see Simon Blow and his students following Grandmaster Chen through both the 1st and 2nd 64.

  Dayan Qigong by Hui Liu

Written by a student of Yang Meijun, this book is published in America and not often seen in the UK.

The author, Master Hui Liu, teaches at the Wen Wu School of Martial Arts in California. Originally from Hopei Province, north of Beijing, she emigrated to America in 1976 and learned some Qigong from a visiting teacher to the Wen Wu school. Later she returned to China to study with Yang Meijun.

In addition to the usual photos teaching the movements of the 1st 64, the book contains lots of pictures of Yang Meijun during her teaching years, and stories about her early life.

There is also a section on Chinese recipes and Chinese Tea ceremonies.

A book or DVD is no substitute for a proper teacher. You cannot teach yourself, you cannot correct yourself!
Exercises on DVDs are often simplified so that you can get a feeling for the exercise, but they do not contain all of the precise and accurate details.
